No. Quite the reverse - it is intended to ensure that your email is detected by Echelon.
How effective is biteme in clogging up Echelon?
It probably isn't effective at all. Those running Echelon could probably configure the system to ignore X-headers, in which case running biteme wouldn't affect them. But at least they'll know we know they're there.

I don't know. I've only ever used it with mutt.
